and Introduction
That Way of the Rodent rides again is down to
the kindness of two people. First Muttley, he knows why and we
are ever grateful! But most of all WotR is back thanks to Mark
Rayson and his awesome RetroVision
events.
WotR first returned as a regular column buried
on the RetroVision forum. Now that RV is taking a rest until summer
2004 Mark has generously allowed WotR to share the RetroVision
forum space. The forum is the heart of both enterprises so I'd
chuffed to bits that Mark has made this happen for us.
The forum
Post anything you damn well want on the forum!
All of the Rodent writers who feature in the
crisp and lovely 'More Rodent Than...'
section started off as ordinary punters posting columns on
the forum. If your contribution is good then you might find yourself
winning promotion too!

There are three rules in play here:
1) I don't actually know shit. I have an
awful memory and refuse to research anything unless it involves
making toast. So I will often refer to games by the wrong name,
or give them the wrong date, or the wrong author, sometimes I
will be making stuff up that never existed except in my mind.
What's important is the feeling.
2) Regular WotR columns will be posted on
the forum, new things appear regularly
3) Feel free to post anything you damn well
please; corrections, personal views, requests, suggestions. Lets
be all dynamic and that
Copyright
Copyright of submissions remains property of
the individual authors, however by submitting a forum piece authors’
grant license to Smart Circle Limited to reproduce that piece,
in edited form, on the Way of the Rodent website. That licence
shall also be extended to further collective use of pieces, such
as publication in book form. Where Smart Circle Limited receives
payment for such further use all profits (monies remaining after
coverage of actual costs such as; production, printing and distribution
costs) shall be returned to the individual authors. Payment will
be made on a pro rata per-word basis. SMART CIRCLE IS DENIED ANY
RIGHT TO RETAIN PROFIT FROM SUCH USE OF SUBMITTED MATERIAL - ALL
PROFITS WILL RETURN TO THE INDIVIDUAL AUTHORS.
Individual authors also retain the right to
submit pieces for publication elsewhere. It would be nice if such
submissions could be accompanied by a notice that reads 'First
published at www.wayoftherodent.com'.
I've taken this route to give all authors some
protection over their submissions. We all 'own' Way of the Rodent
under the Smart Circle license, as well as you all holding on
to your rights to try and make some cash by using the stuff elsewhere.
I hope that's okay.
All the best
Richard
